Where can I eat, get a drink or purchase essentials?

Downtown LA is only 3 metro stops away on the Expo Line, and uncountably many options. There are also some great options nearby:

What museums can I go to?

USC is across the street from Exposition Park (an old World Fair site!), which holds several of LA's museums:

What else can I do?

  • Go to DoLa to find a vast amount of options for what to do in the city.
  • If you are interested in nature, Griffith Park has hiking trails with nice views and an observatory.
  • If you want to go to the beach, you can travel by the Expo line metro to downtown Santa Monica in 40 minutes.
  • If you want to work out, information about USC's gyms and pool is available in the Accommodations section.

How can I get from LAX to USC?

  • If you're taking an Uber, Lyft or taxi: walk or take the shuttle to LAXit. This is the only place at the airport where taxis and ride-share-drivers can pick up passengers.
  • If you're taking public transit:
    1. take the FlyAway Bus to Union Station;
    2. take the Red or Purple line to 7th St. Metro Center (3 stops), and transfer to the Expo Line, and
    3. take Expo Line to either Jefferson/USC (3 stops; 10 minute walk from accommodations) or Expo Park/USC (4 stops; across the street from the Mudd Hall; 12 minute walk from accommodations).
