Where can I stay?

The location for our accommodations are Cardinal Gardens (CAR) and McMorrow Residential College (UVV). They have ample space for outdoor meetings and gatherings, and are located off of Jefferson Street which marks the northern boundary of USC's downtown campus, and next to the new USC Village, which houses several opportunities for shopping and dining. See the maps below. If you have not yet booked accommodations for NASSLLI but would like to see whether you may still do so, please write to Alexis Wellwood with your check-in/check-out dates and preferences for your own room in a 1-room apartment or a shared 2-room apartment.

What is the cost?

1-room apartment rate: $75/night/person
2-room apartment rate: $68/night/person

Prices include 14% LA City bed tax.

What are the rooms like?

We have a limited availability of air-conditioned 1- or 2-room apartments with ensuite kitchen/kitchenette and bathroom. We will prioritize instructors and grant recipients, followed by assignment on a first-come, first-served basis. The apartments are equipped with stovetop and upright fridge; rooms in McMorrow (but not Cardinal Gardens) additionally have a microwave. To cook in your apartment, you will need to bring the appropriate materials (e.g., plates, cups, cutlery, pots/pans; you can consider re-usable camp gear, for example). Each guest will be provided with a linen packet (pillow case, top and bottom bed sheets, 2 bath towels and facecloth) along with a pillow and blanket.

Each room (regardless of the 1- or 2-room apartment style) has 2 extra-long twin-size beds but we are planning on each room being occupied by only one person. Some of the rooms in McMorrow Residential College have "lofted" beds; if this is not an option for you, please let us know in the comments when you register. (Our registration form will include the ability to indicate interest/willingness to share a room; this will allow for a lower per-person nightly rate of $58, but is only likely to be used in the case of (i) family members or (ii) an excess of interest in the USC accommodation options and all parties have expressed willingness to share.)

You can express your preferences for a room reservation by registering.

Where can I park?

Parking passes are contactless and must be purchased online before arrival onsite. To park at the USC accommodations, you must prepay online and print your pass before arriving on campus. Passes must be displayed face-up on the dashboard. The rate is $14/day plus applicable taxes—they are not 24 hour passes, each one is in effect from 12AM to 11:59PM per day.

Where can I work out?

Weekly passes with access to three USC fitness centers in the area (USC Village Fitness Center, Lyon Center, Uytengsu Aquatic Center) are available for $40 through USC Recreation Sports. As of writing, to secure the weekly pass you will need to create an account with myrecsports.usc.edu (can be done in advance) and head to the Lyon Center Membership desk with relevant Covid-era documentation to purchase the pass. Get up-to-date facilities information here or write to recsports@usc.edu with questions.
